"I don't think that abortion should ever be brought up in a church setting"...I was told this once and I couldn't disagree more...

My conviction is, that as with the issue of racism--based on race, culture or gender--the issue of "life" is one of being created by God, in the image of God and belonging to God and that is why "life" is a God issue first and foremost. This same foundational principle gives "all men" equal value and the right to life in our "Declaration of Independence"..."We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness"...men, like William Wilberforce & Martin Luther King stood up against racism on these grounds. Abortion is not, first & foremost, a political issue, but a God issue.

Our legal system demonstrates a "Jekyll & Hyde" mentality with the status of the unborn, ask Scott Petersen who is on "death row" for two murders-- his wife and their unborn son, Connor. However, a woman having her child killed via, dismemberment or having his skull crushed (an abortion), is exercising "choice". Recognize an apparent contradiction?

It is my prayer that God raises up a Martin Luther King or a William Wilberforce to defend the rights of the unborn, with the vigor & success that these men had. But, even if He never chooses to do so, we as Christians can find ways to put an end to this heinous practice...please pray about how God may be able to use you. Please join me in standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.
